Here are our frequently asked questions, our "FAQ"..., where you can learn a little about what goes on behind the scenes!

• What are you guys?

  Foremost we are a publisher providing a service to an industry, specifically the plastics industry. We are much like a trade magazine that does not charge fot it's services, but instead receives revenue from advertising.

  Poly-Links is an internet index and centralizer for the topic of polymers and plastics. We perform an ongoing search of the internet world-wide to locate and index polymer/plastic resources, and to coordinate and publish the results of that searching in a pleasant, easy to use WWW interface.

  Plastics DotCom is an industry trade magazine for electronically enabled plastics and polymers professionals. It compliments Poly-Links by providing "content" to the industry instead of the "service" of link indexing.

• Who are you?

  Poly-Links is sponsored by several organizations. Our founding sponsor is SoftWeb Technologies, a Web Publishing and Design company. We also have other corporate sponsors, some of whom you may notice in our sponsor advertisements.

• Where are you?

  We are located in offices at the Montachusett Industrial Park in Fitchburg, Massachusetts, USA. We are 40 miles west of Boston in central Massachusetts. The area features many forests, lakes, and rolling foothills near Mt. Wachusett. The area is rich in polmyer industry presence. There are hundreds of plastics - polymer firms located within a few minutes; polymerizers, compounders, tool makers, molders, equipment manufacturers, and colleges (particularly the University of Massachusetts with campuses at Lowell "Plastics Engineering" and at Amherst "Polymer Science"). We also are close to the Society of Plastics Engineers "Mueseum of Plastics".

• What is your mission?

  Our goal is already stated above. We do this for several inter-related reasons; to identify polymer links for our own use, as a service to the polymer industry in the internet tradition of providing help to others, to create a central "meeting" place for polymer professionals on the net, to continue to hone our Web expertise and stay leading edge and to explore commercial opportunities that may be found.

• How do you go about your Poly-Links publishing?

  During the month we search for appropriate links and certify that they qualify. We collect these until close to the end of the month. Then in a flurry of activity, we update all of our pages and those of our european mirror site. Also. all month long we will be working on new html features to add to "Poly-Links", and we'll incorporate them on our monthly update.

• SoftWeb Technologies

  SoftWeb Technologies is working to create home pages for corporations and organizations that need them. Join us under the "Poly-Links" banner, where all the important plastics/polymer links come together.
