Back again

Postby Yoda on Fri May 25, 2012 8:47 am

Well I have risen again. Twice more they told my wife I wouldn't make it and I'm here. Serious infection while having my knee reconstructed and not only cured but can walk for the first time in 3 1/2 years. My knuckles are getting sore from knocking on wood. LOL

Missed your birthday Greg but here's a belated "Happy Birthday".

Aahz where the hell are you???

How are things in New Mexico Len and with Will and Louis?

Well I'll be the first to say: GOD Bless you! To carry you through it, and on down the road to what you haven't completed in life!

We thought that you were taking the "retirement" thing too far and decided to fish and not post. Glad to hear that you beat it back. Aahz still lurks and on occasion posts, I can't speak for the rest of us, but I'm hanging in there and still working. Think I'll do that until it is no longer fun as I don't fish. :(

WELCOME back!

Welcome back!! Glad to hear you're up and about with the new knee!

New Mexico is in the middle of fire season---there's a 20,000+ acre fire burning uncontained about 30 miles from Silver City--with daily winds gusting over 50 mph. So far, rain dances aren't working!

Welcome back! I'm glad to hear you're up and about with your new knee! Sorry to hear about the infection, always complications.

I've been out of the office for about a week, myself. Three surgeries in two days, ouch! It all started before Memorial Day, strung out into last week.

Just now getting back into the flow of things.

Best wishes for a full recovery,

Len

Thanks for the good thoughts guys. The knee is doing great. And it only took 3 1/2 yrs. Most have had Obama care without realizing it. LOL I hope everyones problems eliminate themselves life is to damn short for the crap.

Haven't been fishing for a long time because I couldn't walk but I'm walking now.

I wished I lived next to you also Greg. Sounds like fun.

What is a Curmudgeon anyway?

A curmudgeon's reputation for malevolence is undeserved. They're neither warped nor evil at heart. They don't hate mankind, just mankind's absurdities. They're just as sensitive and soft-hearted as the next guy, but they hide their vulnerability beneath a crust of misanthropy. They ease the pain by turning hurt into humor. . . . . . They attack maudlinism because it devalues genuine sentiment. . . . . . Nature, having failed to equip them with a servicable denial mechanism, has endowed them with astute perception and sly wit.
Curmudgeons are mockers and debunkers whose bitterness is a symptom rather than a disease. They can't compromise their standards and can't manage the suspension of disbelief necessary for feigned cheerfulness. Their awareness is a curse.
Perhaps curmudgeons have gotten a bad rap in the same way that the messenger is blamed for the message: They have the temerity to comment on the human condition without apology. They not only refuse to applaud mediocrity, they howl it down with morose glee. Their versions of the truth unsettle us, and we hold it against them, even though they soften it with humor.
People don't plan to fail, they fail to plan.

Don't pick a fight with an old man. If he is too old to fight, he'll just kill you.
