Wayne Machine/Yellow-Jacket Extrusion

Postby 110Ton on Fri Jan 29, 2010 1:23 pm

Ok so I'm sitting here catching up on emails while my experiment runs on the molding machine.

Friend of mine has a small repelletizing/reclaim operation... again like me he deals with troublesome jobs that require constant operator tending or special processing. His big money-maker is a Teflon substance he chops up and turns back into pellets for a medical molder around here.

Told him about this site and how they have an extrusion forum, wanted me to ask "Does anyone know what happened to Wayne Machine/Yellow-Jacket Extrusion I need repair parts (electronics) for one of my lines."

Quick google-fu shows phone-numbers, addresses, and a couple of links to dead websites. Are they gone? If so did anyone pick up the spare parts inventory?

What specifically does he need to replace?

Xaloy can provide screws and barrels, Euratherm or BC can provide controllers, any motor manufacturer can provide drives and components, Genca or Guil can provide tooling.

When it comes down to it, most extruders are assembled from component parts and not manufactured by the extruder builder.

Tooling I provide, Strand-dies are easy to produce on a CNC mill. Secret is in the taper, straight through holes cause issues. :)

I'm not sure what he needs electronic-wise but I'll pass the information along.

If he gets into the machine and pulls the real manufacturers names he can go direct and get replacements.

But there are some manufacturers who have "special" modifications to standard items which can only be sold directy to them, cornering the replacement part market for the item.
