Remember the cat's from the ARGUS adverts? The Argus location in the Redhook section of Brooklyn,NY had cat pictures in most of the reception and office areas. As I recall the cats were Siamese. Argus was bought by Witco and remained an independent Division till around the 1980s. Witco then merged with Crompton and later they became Chemtura. Chemtura merged with Great Lakes Chemical several years ago leading to the present Chemtura.

B.F. Goodrich was a leading producer of PVC. It was also the company that opened up the VCM problem with testimony before Congress. The rubber companies each produced PVC mostly as the result of flexible PVC replacing rubber and a desire not to buy resin from a competitor. One reason for the reduction in resin producers was the cost of building new plants to produce low or VCM free resins.
