Molding Relocation

Postby D.V. on Tue Aug 12, 2003 6:19 pm

We are going to relocate molding from one room to another room within the same plant.
I am looking the easy way to validate or verify all the machines and the molds.
Does anyone have experience with this?
What would it be the best way to do this?
I would appreciate any help.
Thank you
David.

David,
I'm not sure I understand "validate". If you're wanting to approve the mold and machine function, then I would perform a "qualification' run consisting of startup, running at least 2 hours, then save 80 or more consecutive shots. Use these parts to develope a dimensional capability study.
As the shots ore being pulled and numbered, document specific process parameters of each shot. These parameters will be used to show process capability in relation to the dimensionals.

Hope I explained that correctly?

I didn't edit your message, I went in to it by mistake, sorry.
