We have an existing mold that has a water leak in one of it's plates, but we have no idea where the leak is occuring internally. We would like to have the plate X-Ray'd to determine where the metal has faulted. We're located in Ontario Canada and don't want to ship a 4'x5' plate too far.
I have run into similar situations and have found a unique method of repair. I find which water curcuit is leaking first. I then pour in Loctite 291 into the water line. I block the exit and then pressurize it. This forces the Loctite into the crack. Relieve the pressure, pour out the excess Loctite and let sit over night. In situations where I can see the crack I pull a vacuum on the curcuit and dab the Loctite onto the crack from the outside. I have plates and cavities that have remained fixed like this for years.
