The site is up and running again! on July 31,2006
A "Heads Up" on the Macrogalleria site
Dear Colleagues: Just wanted to let you all know that our website, the PSLC or
Polymer Science Learning Center at http://www.pslc.ws , along with the Macrogalleria
polymer education site, has been temporarily closed. This is due to a sudden
decision that forced us from the physical location of the PSLC which occurred
two days before an NSF funded international [SPAM BANNED] exchange to Istanbul
with 12 other faculty and undergraduates. We did not have time to find a safe
and secure location for the site but will do so immediately on our return so
that the 8,000 plus visitors a day can resume access. While the site will no
longer be associated with the University of Southern Mississippi, the web
address will remain the same so all links to the site or individual pages will
still be valid. Thank you for your patience and years of support for this
effort- the site would not be possible without the dedication of dozens of
faculty and staff here and throughout the world, and their efforts are greatly
appreciated. We look at this as an opportunity to revitalize and expand the
materials available, so if you have specific suggestions for improving the site
(or want to make a financial contribution to assist with the process), please
feel free to contact me.

Also check the Education Forum for online Plastics Courses or Seminars. Some free some charge. Some offer credits.

Hi,

I didn't see any introduction section so I'll just say that my name is Srđan and I'm a student from Croatia. A bit is said in my signature. I've been checking this forum since it got online few days ago and it seems like heaven for someone who is in that field. So anyways - I'm glad that I have found it.

I have written this first post because I would like to ask Dr. Dick when will http://www.pslc.ws be up again because it looks real interesting and unfortunately the link is that for now.

Greetings,

Srđan
Student of textile chemistry in Zagreb (Croatia)

Finishing soon and looking for a first time job or training. Very interested in polymers.

Welcome!

I tired the link and it appears to be working, though there are some formatting issues with some browsers. One page had very large text that I had to pan around to view the entire page.

We invite you to stay tuned here, as there will be some new changes to our site.
It is hardly too strong to say that the Constitution was made to guard the people against the dangers of good intentions. There are men in all ages who mean to govern well, but they mean to govern. They promise to be good masters, but they mean to be masters.”

Sorry, when I copied and pasted the return of the macrogaleria site that I didn't catch the "," in the link. The first level of the site is an introduction as you go up in levels the education level goes up. Try level five for some ollege level info.

Also there are several other sites linked in other posts on this topic.

Welome to the plasticsdotom site. Also of interest if you haven't found it yet is the SPE site http://www.AskPIP.org for help in plastics info.

Protomold recently redid it's web pages and has a resource page at

http://www.protomold.com/Resources.aspx

which has something on Part Design, material selection and a IM glossary that may be useful to those new to the industry.

IDES is offering free registration for access to their Prospector site at

http://www.ides.com/modplas/2007/elist1.asp

The number of data sheets and links to producers world wide is impressive to say the least.
