PVC GELATION PROPAGATION

Postby ijekic on Mon May 23, 2011 4:26 am

Dear,
here are the results of testing of two PVC rigid compound, our is sample No. 2 and we want to achieve characteristics like those for sample No. 1. Our problem is poor surface glossiness, also sample No.1 is like chewing gum under pressure instead our that is braking. We use 5 microns stearised CaCO3 and Ca/Zn stabilizer. Both compound are used for extrusion like for spiral hoses.
Pls., tel me is there anything that we can do for improving our characteristics. Like acrylic PA, or what else, especially for better gelation.
SAMPLE 1 SAMPLE 2
"BRABENDER GELATION
TPB, 160 C-220 C, 30 RPM, 40 GR"
Fusion time 11:38 2:18
Gelation speed 42,2 23,6
FTIR CaCO3 (phr) 25,798 31,252
ASH CONTENT (CaCO3+TiO2+..) (%) 25,47 31,33
